CVSC Backs “A Strong Voice for Conservation”

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Conservation Voters of South Carolina (CVSC) on Thursday announced they were officially endorsing Ashley Trantham for State House District 28. CVSC chose to endorse Trantham because of her support for South Carolina’s agricultural economy and recognition that conservation and business go hand-in-hand.

“We’re backing Ashley because she understands the needs of District 28 and will be a strong voice for conservation,” said CVSC Executive Director John Tynan. “She knows environmental stewardship is one of our best recruiting tools for promoting jobs and prosperity. She will fight to protect the air, land, and water that we hold dear and will be able to deliver results.”

Trantham is one of four candidates running in the Republican Primary for State House District 28 in the special election this Tuesday, November 14. The seat was vacated after Rep. Eric Bedingfield resigned to become the Director of Government Affairs at Greenville Technical College.

“We have a biblical mandate to be good stewards of the Earth and I will support the hunting, fishing, and farming communities that make our district a great place to live, work, and raise a family,” Trantham said. “I thank CVSC for their support and look forward to working with them in the legislature to protect the South Carolina we love.”

The Trantham family owns Happy Cow Creamery in Pelzer and has been dairy farming for generations. Trantham is also a real estate agent and worship leader at Washington Baptist Church.
